Social Media Manager (Instagram)

The Social Media Manager helps showcase St Albans United’s energy and inclusivity by establishing our Instagram feed and keeping it fresh, engaging and on-brand.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

Plan & Post • Draft a weekly / monthly content calendar (match-day photos, training clips, sponsor shout-outs, milestone posts, stories & reels).
• Write friendly, concise captions and apply club hashtags.
Visual Content When we have a volunteer Club Photographer: work with them to source the best action shots.
• Otherwise, capture your own photos/videos at sessions and confirm photo permissions with coaches/parents.
Engage & Grow • Reply to comments and DMs (or pass queries to the right committee member).
• Tag leagues, sponsors and partner clubs to widen reach.
Brand & Safeguarding • Keep tone consistent with our “fun, inclusive, community” ethos.
• Check every image meets St Albans United safeguarding rules before posting.
Metrics • Track basic stats (followers, reach, engagement) and share a monthly snapshot in the Committee Signal group.

💡 Desirable Skills

  • Comfortable with Instagram posts, stories and reels
  • Eye for a good photo/video crop and a punchy caption
  • Organised—able to batch-schedule posts
  • (Professional marketing experience welcome but not required)

⏰ Time Commitment

Roughly 1 hour per week during term time (can be batched). Most tasks are online—attend sessions only when you want fresh content.
